I remember standing next to the train at Homestead Park in Hilliard. It was a crazy hot day. We were in a race to get the session over before the ginger one turned from pink to red to purple. Mom and I talked about looping teachers or maybe it was combined classes. Either way, the conversation revolved around the innocent issues of our two littles.

I got the email about the third. For some reason, I’m always surprised when I get email notices that the third is on their way. No idea why but, it always takes me by surprise! When I got to their house, Dad told me he was going to have to do the unthinkable….get a minivan.

Then they built a house and got a new dog and I was invited to be a part of that milestone. I heard about the building and selling process. The trials of training a pooch. The bond between the oldest and the youngest.

This year. The story continued into the next phase of life. The boys are finding themselves. The youngest is a goof. The middle finding himself as an athlete. The oldest making his parents wish for the days of thinking about looping teachers and combined classes. The minivan turning out to kinda be really convenient and not that bad.

There’s been sessions in between the big milestones. Lots of laughter. Lots of awkward. Lots of sharing of life and their story.
