Night Night

jake is slowly figuring out the meanings of certain words.  It's fun to see.

Part of our night time routine is for the three of us to hang out in our bedroom after bath time is done.  We use the time to wind down and just kind of hang out as a family.  jake never wants to go to bed.  When we say it's time to go night night, he lays down where ever he is with his arms and legs folded underneath his belly and his head laying to the side.  He acts like he's going to sleep....but then starts yelling a second later.

We're making the transition to one nap.  It's a hard transition to make especially when I'm a planner.  Anyway, I'm trying to do a better job at reading his cues and just letting him figure out when he's tired.  I think I may have misjudged this morning so I told him that since he didn't want to take a nap he could play in his room.  We've tried our best to childproof that room and I like to leave him alone to play at times during the day.  After a few minutes, he usually starts whining for me.  No surprise he started whining after a few minutes.  I go in there and asked him if he was ready for his nap.  Then said it was time to go night night.  He laid down right there on the floor with his arms and legs folded underneath his belly and his head laying to the side.  Too cute.

We're working on eyes, nose, mouth and ears.  Currently, he just likes to point to his nose for everything then he likes to try and pick  my nose.  We're working on it.
