Merry Christmas!!

Wow, I haven't blogged in a month! I've had other things on my mind....which I guess you're supposed to blog about those things but, that will be for another day. It's Christmas!!

I'll get to the other stuff later but, for now, I'll concentrate on one of our biggest blessings.

Santa looks psyched doesn't he?

jake is just amazing. He's doing so many things that it's insane. Every couple of days he gets a word spurt and learns 4 or 5 new words. No matter how many he learns, though, his favorites remain to be more, bus, and Duke dog. Although cookie and choo choo seem to be moving up in the world.

He loves to take a screw driver and fix this kid sized bus he has in his playroom. Funny enough he only tries to fix the spots that he saw his dad touch while he was putting it together. I often wonder if he's trying to emulate his dad or if he questions his dad's abilities and is going around behind him to make sure it's done right.

Recently, I put a huge piece of banner paper on an old coffee table. He now goes over there about 3 or 4 times a day to color and draw.

I regret the day that I put a toddler tunes cd in my car. One of the songs is "Wheels on the Bus." The second it's over all you hear from the back seat is "moh bus". If you try and ignore him, he gives you the most pitiful "mmooohh bus". Not exactly a whine, but more of a "I am totally in the worse pain ever and the only thing that will solve it is to here that damn song again." To make it even better, his favorite part has now become the part where the babies go wah, wah, wah. "moh bus" "babeee"

He's showing an ever so slight interest in the potty. We're definitely not anywhere near potty training but, we do try to encourage the interest. He'll tell us when he's gone to the bathroom. He always likes to say "bye bye pee pee" after one of us flushes. Amazingly, he's waking up in the morning and from naps pretty much dry which from what we've read is another potty training sign.

He's a pretty shy kid but, is kind of starting to talk to strangers. He likes to say bye bye and make sure that everyone knows that his mama and dada are right next to him. High fives are pretty popular, too.

I thought Trev was going to cry one morning when he said good bye to jake and started out the door but heard jake running after him. He turned and jake gave him a big hug and a kiss and said bye. We're starting to get a lot of moments like that....so great.

So this Christmas, one of our biggest presents is this kid. He's making Christmas about a million times more....wonderful for us.

p.s head over to td{dwell} and check out some of our decorations and home made cards!
