Gingerbread....kinda

I'm going to admit it.  I'm a blog addict.  I love them.  I have a ton on my reader and it kind of stresses me out if I don't finish all the entries in my reader every night.

Sidenote:  I'm redesigning the blog over the next week and a half so I hope to add all my favorite blogs very soon....oh, and I'll be editing some old posts which is going to throw everyone who has me on a reader off.  Sorry!

Anyway.  Under The Sycamore is one of the blogs I read.  How I found it, I have no earthly idea but, I like it.  She has another project that I'm going to try over the next week.  We'll see how it goes!  She recently posted that she made graham cracker houses with her kids.  I've never actually made a ginger bread house.  Those little kits that you can find everywhere from your grocery store to Big Lots kind of freak me out.  No way am I actually going to make the ginger bread walls from scratch....ok maybe I will one day but not this year.  When I read her version with graham crackers....I couldn't run to the pantry fast enough.  My ginormous sweet tooth was a callin'.

She hot glued her walls together and then let the kids frost them.  I felt that I had to experience the fun that is frosting mortar before I could go to the glue.

Sigh.  Yes, jake.  Let's see those beautiful teeth.  They're probably all going to fall out after the sweets fest we call the holiday season.

jake strongly favors Reese Pieces....yet tells me he doesn't like peanut butter.

jake strongly favors frosting, too.

There was some decorating going on.

jake's favorite part was the bridge.

anna, my dear sweet baby girl, was napping during this sweets extravaganza.  We'll see if I resort to the glue next year when she gets to build her own little casa.
