our baby girl

I'm so swamped with photo shoots to edit. I wanted to make sure that I remembered a few things, though.

anna started walking consistently about a week ago. She's so funny. For about a month, she was taking a step here and there. Maybe a few in a row. Not really getting too far. Suddenly, she decided that it was time to walk and she just started doing it. Fall down, stand up. Fall down, stand up. She's pretty consistent with the walking now. She only crawls when she's tired or wants to be some place ASAP.

I'm trying to wean and it is amazingly hard. I don't remember it being like this with jake. It makes me think that she's becoming more and more like me. You can try to convince me to do something all you want but, I have to do it on my own time once I work it all out in my head. I think she gets that from me.

We took both kids to the pediatrician today. That's loads of fun. A double appointment for a 3 year old and a one year old. anna was 19 lbs. I think jake was 18.5 lbs at the same age. They're both doing great. Except they both had to get shots. That upped the fun factor about 100%. Broke my heart. jake kept asking on the ride home, "Why did they have to poke me, mommy? I don't like pokes." Sad voice and teary eyed. Ugh. Break my heart.

The kids and I are having a good summer. We're doing a lot of stuff just us. I'm enjoying it. I think I'm going to continue with this frame of mind in the winter. Why should it be any different?
