Play Doh

I've been trying to jump on this homemade play doh bandwagon. Its not going well. I'm not going to lie, nothing beats good old fashioned God only knows how many chemicals and weird things are in it play doh.

My first attempt was this recipe from Family Fun magazine back in April.

I let jake mix it all up.

We went for the paprika to make it orange.

anna watched from the sidelines.

Once it was all together, it was definitely kinda like play doh. I mean you could moosh it and stuff but, it just wasn't the same.

In the beginning of July, I tried this recipe from the blog, I Can Teach My Child.

Sidenote: A lot happens in 3 months. anna didn't have to sit on the sidelines for this one! She got to participate. Ummm, yeah, I know I need to raise up her seat. Someone lowered it :cough: I think it was Trev :cough:.

The problem with this recipe is that more ended up in their bellies then molded into cute shapes.

Even jake looks older.

This is what she looks like when she's yelling at me.

She did play a bit before she ate it.

So, the first batch had a weird consistency and the second batch went straight to the bellies. I don't know. I think we're going to stick with the crazy dyed old fashioned play doh. Its just more fun for all of us.
