a rainy day

I was looking back at these photos from a rainy morning in mid April. I can't get over how much anna's hair has grown and how blonde she's gotten! It was around this time that I started to try and get anna more involved in our projects.

jake really loves this water bottle tissue paper project.

I got the idea when his preschool class had their mommy and me day. Its definitely not a new idea but, it was new to me and I thought it was pretty cool. Basically you spray a piece of paper with water and then have the kids put pieces of tissue paper on the water. As it dries, the tissue paper dyes the the white sheet of paper.

jake's favorite part is the water bottle.

I like the its not messy and helps with his fine motor skills. His finished product.

Our tissue paper didn't do all that great of a job of dying the paper. Oh well. Held his attention for a while.

While jake had his tissue paper fun, I thought maybe anna could play with some applesauce.

My thinking was that it could be sensory. Maybe an introduction to finger painting?? Maybe a snack??

She wasn't all that into it. Especially the snack part of it.

I think she was just glad to be a part of a project!
